Latest season Anime chart by Chartfag.
So, we’ve got quite a few intriguing series this season. I will admit, I’m starting to get over fanservice series. Sure they can be funny, but watching series that are made just to show off 2D boobs gets old quickly. When I saw the picture for Seikon no Quaser on this chart, I thought it looked pretty cool. But after reading the description… well, it’s original, but the image it has left in my head is quite disturbing.
But enough of what I won’t be watching. The new Cobra series caught my eye immediately. I haven’t seen Cobra since the days of renting out VHS movies. This remake is modern, but they still wanted to give it that sort of ‘retro’ feel to it, which is a nice change.
Sora no Woto, of course, reminds everyone of K-On. And of course, there are those who will call it a complete knock-off of K-On. Whatever the case may be, judging from the first episode it looks nice, but a little on the average side so far. I think this will be one of those times where I’ll go as far as 5 episodes with a series and decide if I want to keep going or not from that point.
Gag Manga Biyori+ looks great. I haven’t seen any of the previous series nor have I read it, but that won’t stop me from watching this (if I can find some subs that is). We seriously need more fun, crazy Anime that keeps us entertained the whole way through. If they did another series for Cromartie High School, I wouldn’t be the only one to say “I’m so there.”
Durarara!! What can I say about this? It’s beautiful. This hooked me from the first episode and I’ll definitely be watching this all the way through. Just by watching the opening, I’m already intrigued about all the characters. Heck, Horo made an appearance as a cardboard stand. This series is an instant-win.
Katanagatari which airs on the 25th of January looks and sounds pretty damn cool. Some people think the animation style looks like crap, but by looking at the trailers, it works quite well. This’ll be my action-fix for the season.
And then of course, there’s the next Lupin III movie: The Last Job. Do I even have to explain why this is on my ‘to watch’ list? If it is in fact the last job/last movie, Lupin will go out with a bang. But don’t forget, he’s still on a rampage stealing things around Japan even as I write this!

hi mate, excellent site Happy Holidays!
Durarara!! is King, I totally agree! Even with all the fangirl moments ^^
There’s a lot more depth to So-ra-no-wo-to than meets the eye, as I discovered after doing a post on the second episode that turned into a major analysis. I love all the little details they put in the backgrounds that add depth to the setting.
